Dr. Randy MacKinnon

About Dr. MacKinnon

Dr. Randy, as his patients call him, has practiced Family Medicine in Charlottetown since 1995, after completing his medical training at Dalhousie University.  He has also completed a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine from the University of Toronto, and a Master’s Certificate in Physician Leadership from York University Schulich School of Business.  He was recognized as PEI Family Physician of the Year in 2009.  In addition to his office practice, you might also see him at the QEH Emergency Room, or providing surgical assistance in the QEH Operating Room.

His philosophy is to treat patients respectfully, to make them feel at ease and relaxed during their visits, to treat the medical issues that arise, and to encourage healthy and active lifestyles that enable preventative solutions in the long run. He and his staff recognize the importance of, and have adopted, healthy and active lifestyles in their personal lives.

In his busy practice he and his staff make every effort to provide timely care based on their professional understanding of the patient’s needs.  “We try hard to be there for the patient, to use our collaborative approach to make sure that the patient is seen by the right person, at the right place, at the right time.”
